Issue

Possible solutions…

#COM (Communication Error)

The data point is resolved, but not communicating with the device.

  • Reconfigure the driver
  • Service the device in case of malfunction
  • Reconnect the device
  • Verify device wired properly

#REF (Reference Error)

Symbol cannot be located.

  • Check file shares and permissions
  • Confirm if Symbols still exist (not deleted)
  • Confirm Symbols converted to SVG, or
  • To convert the Symbol to SVG, in the management station, run the Consistency Checker tool:
    -
    Task: File Conversion
    - Conversion Method: ToSvg
    - Path Symbols: libraries\*ccs
    - Force Conversion: True

Graphics not displaying in a distributed environment.

In SMC, under System > Services verify that the GMS_WCCILpmon_[ProjectName]service isconfigured with the Windows user with Log on as a service rights. This enables the WSI to have access to the files via the share.

Graphics not displaying changes made on the server.

  • Clear the browser cache. Steps vary depending on browser and device type.
  • Restart the browser session.

Graphics not displaying properly in the Firefox browser.

Disable the Firefox Hardware acceleration feature.

The following do not display or open as expected:

  • Tooltips
  • Windows applications

These are limitations of the Graphics Viewer in the Flex Client.

Currently there are no workarounds.

Symbol References not displaying properly on a graphic.

Symbol Reference property with evaluations applied are not supported in the Flex Client.

  • Re-engineer the graphic with a set of Symbol instances, each with an evaluation on the Visible property, determining under which conditions it should display in the Flex Client.
