Handling the UL-864 9th ed. Ownership of Fire Panels

This section provides step-by-step procedures for managing ownership of fire panels in UL/ULC profiles; you can request, transfer, and accept/deny the ownership that enables you to operate a fire panel.

Request Ownership from the Owner Station

You are operating a station that is not the owner of a panel and you want to request ownership.

In System Browser, select the panel for which you want to request ownership.
In the Properties pane, select Owner options  and select Request. For background information on properties and related elements, see Properties.
The Request Transfer of Ownership dialog box displays on the owner station.
If necessary, repeat the preceding steps to request ownership of other panels. Multiple requests can be accepted or denied in the same dialog box at the owner station.

If the operator of the owner station grants ownership, or the request times out and is automatically accepted, you will be informed by a Request successful message.
In addition, the Owner line displays your station as the new owner.

The requesting operator is not notified if the owner station operator denies the request.

Transfer Ownership to Another Station

You are operating an owner station for a panel, and you want to transfer the ownership to another station.

In System Browser, select the panel you want to transfer.
In the Properties pane, select Owner options  and select Transfer. For background information on properties and related elements, see Properties.
A drop-down selection list displays.
In the list, select the station to which you wish to transfer the ownership.
Click Transfer.
The Request Transfer of Ownership dialog box displays on the station you selected.
If necessary, repeat the preceding steps to transfer ownership of other panels. Multiple transfers can be accepted or denied in the same dialog box at the selected station.

If the operator of the non-owner station accepts ownership, you will be informed by a Transfer successful message. In addition, the Owner line displays the new owner station. If the transfer times out, it is automatically denied.

The owner client station operator is not notified if the other client station does not accept ownership.

Accept/Deny Ownership Request/Transfer

You are operating a station that is the owner of one or more panels, and you have received a request for that ownership,
OR
you are operating a station that is not the owner of one or more panels, and you have received a transfer request for that ownership.
NOTE: A timeout occurs. If you let it expire, in case of ownership requests are all automatically accepted while in case of ownership transfers are all automatically denied.

In the Request Transfer of Ownership dialog box, do one of the following:

For a global acceptance, click Accept Selection.

For a partial acceptance of multiple requests, deselect the items for which you want to deny transfer of ownership, and click Accept Selection.

For a global denial, click Deny All.

The ownership changes according to your selection.
The dialog box closes.
